For anyone with animals, this and a Dyson Ball/The Animal are indispensable. The only solution if it gets too bad is to replace the tank.for another $30. You can empty it and rinse it, but after a month or so, the fatty material in animal waste builds up, like a grease, and there's no way to fully remove it. It's lighter weight than the Bissel, but the motor is stronger, drawing out more liquid. My problem is the interlocking clean and dirty water tanks.
The tanks are smaller, as one reviewer said, so you have to refill/empty more frequently, but overall, it's a better machine. As a result, when you fire the unit up, there's this waft of REALLY disgusting air that blows around until you're done. To empty the dirty water tank, you have to remove the clean water tank first. This unit works really well, and their cleaning solution is better than Bissels by far. Then, there's no way to fully clean the dirty water tank.
To be fair, this is a drawback with the Bissel, too.
great if you don't have lots of storage and need a carpet steamer for small to medium size stains. The only minus is that it is expensive. Small but very effective. Highly recommend.
I mainly used this for my puppy's messes, which would be gone in about 20 seconds with this machine. YUCK.
A little duct tape fixed that, though. All in all, I highly recommend this product. after just a few minutes.
But after an initial wipe up with paper towels, this machine sucked it all up out of the rug (no stain at all.). My only complaint is that the cleaning liquid has started to leak a little out through the handheld part of this- the pieces must not all be together tight enough.
This thing works miracles. But I've also used it for spilled liquids- it works for that, too. When my neighbor's dog visited once, the darn thing had diarrhea all over my carpet.
This machine has saved me countless hours of scrubbing, and countless rolls of paper towels.
Cleanup is a breeze and it would leave my carpet clean and dry within an hour. This machine does a great job to remove the urine stain and odor out of the carpet. I am very happy to choose the Dirt Devil Purpose For Pets over the Bissell Little Green. I have an 8-lb yorkiepoo and he can do some damage around the place. I even use it to clean the carpet entrance area and on my leatherette sofa.
I liked the functionality of this machine so much that I'm now considering purchasing another but I'm worried I will encounter the leak problem again. A few weeks ago the dripping became intolerable so I had my husband take a look and he found the spray valve had broken. I've had this machine for over a year and half and found it indispensable. The problem was that it starting to drip-leak down from the hose attachment and I was spending more time sucking up this spilt water instead of the spray solution. I don't have my receipt, plus I voided the warranty by opening the nozzle casing so I can't replace it within the 2-year warranty.
